MesoLab privacy policy
Applies to the MesoLab apps for Android and iPhone and the MesoLab web app. Last updated: 16 October 2026.
In short
- Your training data stays on your device. MesoLab has no accounts, no servers storing your workouts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- The only things that leave your device are subscription checks (handled by the App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat, see below), (1) feedback you choose to send, which is emailed to us via FormSubmit, and (2) exercise demo videos you choose to play, which load from YouTube.
Data stored on your device
Your mesocycles, workouts (exercises, sets, weights, reps, joint-pain ticks), post-session feedback scores, settings, custom exercises, past-meso history, the list of feedback you've sent and onboarding/tip preferences are stored only on your device: in the app's private storage on Android or iPhone, or in your browser's local storage on the web. We cannot see, access or recover this data.
On Android, the system's own backup (Android Auto Backup to your Google account, if you have it turned on) may include the app's data so it can be restored on a new phone. That backup is managed by Google under your account settings; we don't receive it. On iPhone, the app's data is included in your device's iCloud or computer backups in the same way, managed by Apple under your settings.
You can export your data as a file from Settings, and you can delete it at any time by resetting the app in Settings, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app.
Feedback you send
If you use the Feedback tab and tap send, the following is sent to mesolabsltd@gmail.com through the form-to-email service FormSubmit:
| Always | The category and your message; the app version; a short device summary (for example "Android 15 · Chrome"), the browser/WebView user-agent string, the screen size, and the time. |
|---|---|
| Only if you fill them in | Your email address (so we can reply); the exercise name and video link you suggest; a suggested exercise's name, muscle group, equipment and example video link. |
Nothing is sent unless you tap send. FormSubmit receives the submission in order to forward it to us by email (see FormSubmit's privacy policy), and the email is then stored in our Gmail inbox (Google). We use feedback only to improve MesoLab and, if you gave an email address, to reply to you. We don't sell it or use it for marketing. Ask us to delete your feedback at any time by emailing mesolabsltd@gmail.com.
Exercise demo videos (YouTube)
Demo videos are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only load when you tap a video. When a video loads, YouTube (Google) receives the usual technical information such as your IP address and device/browser details, under Google's privacy policy. In the Android and iPhone apps, the player is loaded through a small page on our website (hosted on GitHub Pages), because YouTube won't play embeds directly from inside an app. That page receives only the video's ID, and GitHub may log the request (for example your IP address) under GitHub's privacy statement. "Open in YouTube" opens the YouTube app or website, which is outside MesoLab.
Intro video
The intro video is part of the app and plays from your device; it doesn't contact any server.
Children
MesoLab is a strength-training planner intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Subscriptions
MesoLab Pro (7-day free trial, then £9.99 a month or £59.99 a year) is bought through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card details. The app uses RevenueCat to check whether you have MesoLab Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID it creates, and your purchase receipts and subscription status from the store. There is no account and nothing links this to your name or workouts. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Your rights
Because your training data never leaves your device, you control it directly. For feedback you've sent, you can ask us for a copy, a correction or deletion, and under UK GDPR you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
